You've no idea how extremely helpful this is for me.
I'm actually in the midst of doing a couple of rereading the whole thing and editing as I go along. The most important thing is definitely the "They care about me?" thing. The reason is that I wrote the first half of chapters completely out of order. At first, I had some written, but I wanted to fill in some blanks—where a jump from one part to the next—felt loose without a couple chapters in between to fill that gap. It's a tendency of mine that I still need to work on.
As for the characters themselves, all I gotta say is LET'S GOOO!
I always try to make my characters distinct, especially in a cast that involves more than two. One guy and three girls is already pushing it for me, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. Chloe's sweet charm, Lana's chaotic energy, and Alice's flirtatious ways—combined with Aikami's initially loose interest to eventually coming to terms with his feelings. To me, harem protagonists are always so cringe. I can't stand them, so I just wanted to make a normal one for once and see how that played out.
Who would've thought that a "normal" person would be interesting to follow without cringing out with their weird dialogue choices?
