That was pretty much what I was aiming for. With the Kadokawa contract, there's not really a reason for me to be in this contest. Aside from getting a bit of practice with isekai to gear up for Snazzy v2, i decided that writing an example that gave people a sense of what to expect when it came to the asks. As such, it was designed to be a safe approach with good execution.
I really want people to do better than me, so this was my way of being a guide, just like Gideon.
Besides, I saved the silliness for my next book instead (which is a fun romcom). 😂

The story is in Roze's POV, so Gideon hasn't reset. He just used time stop to scout and then come back an instant later. But as noted by Roze, he already knew about the golem and pretended that he discovered it, so that he wouldn't have to explain the cycling to the others.

This is definitely a place where it would be easy to compare his flawed parental figures to the current ones. Children have a hard tie understand their intentions in the most, and as you have laid out, baby Anu overreacts initially before reason sets in. It also makes me wonder if Anu hadn't seen the issues through a tinted lens.
