I appreciate your opinion, Mario. I knew it would be a divisive shift, but if I were to play it safe with ideas, then I would have never come up with some of the weird things I do. There are people that have negative opinions of Grace 1 and Tentacles, not their thing for the most part.
As for why I submitted it to JNC, I felt like it worked well enough as a standalone. Had a few people read it that hadn't touched Grace 1 and they seemed to have no issues. JNC has never been really a goal for me to do well in (the Kadokawa talks were already ongoing as far back as that, though it was more uncertain at that point). For the most part, I had some stories on hand and wanted to see what type of stories JNC wanted. They've pretty much ignored my stories, so it was more data points as to what they are really interested in. Likely, I'll be submitting Hi Flyers and Wadakoi (the sukeban romcom) as the next ones just because I can.
And hey, bald people are your thing. Not mine. If I shave someone, it'll be something akin to the 100 GFs scene where Rentaro does it to purposefully make himself unlovable (yet it still fails, lol). 😂
