Interesting start. Makes me think of how Myne in the Bookworm isekai would have died if not for a stray otherworlder claiming her body. I assume that's the angle you're going with for Cotter.

There are actually a hundred ways to say no in Japanese, but none of them actually work very well in this situation. 😩 Wife used her gaijin card to force a no when she was visiting Japan though. 😂

Okay, at this point, I think I have a few thoughts overall. The story itself is great. I have no issues with the writing. The thing that feels like there's the most dissonance with the contest is that this book reads so far like a YA scifi novel instead of what is generally perceived as an isekai LN. It's a certain vibe that I feel like is missing when it comes to what I would typically experience for isekai, even though the technicalities are there. Does this hurt your chances? I have no clue. But it's the best thing I can think of as to what feels different compared to other entries I've read so far.
