At some point, the calibration data had aligned Haru and 'Grace's' wavelengths. 'Grace' as a result was born from a combination of her core memories and Haru's subconscious. So in fact, the Grace that Haru saw was part him.
Now, if he plays the song, he sends back the wave to her, and upon recognizing the melody, Grace's subconscious kicks back in, disrupting the calibration and throwing it off balance. Hence, it becomes difficult for her to connect again. She only does so in one last effort due to the remnants of 'Grace' in Haru's mind, which fades fast.
But ofc, the song (holding all of his feelings for his friends) has a slight impact on Grace herself, pushing her brain waves to align to his friends, but with varying results. They get hints of 'Grace', filled in with their own subconscious, but definitely less lucid versions of her.
So in the end, Grace was part projection of Haru, so you don't really know who she actually is originally. But yes, she was the young daughter of a high-ranked yakuza family, which explains why she was suddenly targeted for no reason. (I may write a volume 2 eventually that focuses on Grace's former self - but set in her current self, like past coming back to haunt her thing)
