Yeah, I leaned hard into the dragonfly/damselfly aspect. Certainly not compliant with the fluffy-ears-fluffy-tail waifu meta. Glad you like it.
Ah, so that's Raiga's history. He made the right choice, though it cost him dearly. (Wonder if that kid he saved will make an appearance at some point)
Ah, okay. Think I get it now. The first chapter made me think Fiona would be the antagonist, but I see that wasn't the plan. Think I'll keep going and see where this goes

The protagonist seems very aware that he's boxed in: middle child of the family, unable to object or even get food himself. Interesting starting condition for a tragedy, curious to see what direction it goes.
Also: cool fish.
when that pair suggested Sera join them just because she was cute... people trying to pick someone up at the adventurer's guild is the fantasy equivalent of people who try to pick people up at the gym.
Even in a fantasy world, cream puffs are cheaper than therapy.
Glad you liked it! I've got plans for that mask and its problems.
You'll get a detailed look at the odonaran next chapter (this will be a recurring character).

Thank you. I wanted this chapter to slalom from serious to banter and back to serious, and chose the tarp/tent talk for that first transition.

The hypertext-nature of the grimoire is neat, the annotations hinting at the previous owners' lives. Cool stuff.
I have a fever, and the only prescription is inventing a new magic system every fantasy story I write.
thanks, I hoped these two would go well together
That was the plan from the start: Brocwhel misses his chances to save his friend and the order, then has to go through some twists and turns to learn the necessary lessons to not repeat his (and the order's) mistakes.

the protagonist is very good at reading people while those other peoples' attention slides off him. I always find that trait cool in characters when it's portrayed well (as it is here)
Pan has unlocked dodge-tanking. But which martial art will she end up doing, I wonder? Even if it's not a direct parallel to a real one, there's a good bit of variety to draw inspiration from under that wide category.
I committed myself to writing a sad moment the heartbeat I decided to start a bit before the tragedy and then show it playing out. Glad to know it's working as intended (I used to only be able to write comedy, so this is an extension of my range).
