Jumo does feel like a passive character at the moment, but that is because he has not fully entered Sakuya's world just yet, which will happen very very soon. I am really glad you are enjoying their chemistry.
and for your theory about the unknown spirit, well, you are a little close in the sense that it is someone who liked him, but you need to look closely at the ending of chapter 5 or was it chapter 6 lol. the chapter that showed a passage from the spirit's point of view towards Jumo. the answer is within her words.
