Oh wow. Wow, wow, wow. This chapter was really good on so many levels.

The description of the setting here in the North, the cold, the atmosphere, the land, the river, and most importantly, how it physically highlighted the differences and division between these two peoples, the humans and the Yudari.

It shows how, even though the humans here are kind people, the Yudari are clearly not as prosperous as the humans. And that was a major issue for me back in the city, when Yui was there, because she kept saying, and the narration kept saying, that these people weren't being treated fairly, but we weren't really seeing much of that.

We weren't really seeing the class and resource divisions that were supposed to exist between these two groups. But here, we actually see it, and that's why I like how the chapter didn't shy away from it. It shows the differences in prosperity between the two peoples in a way that makes it much easier to understand Yui's goals and sympathize with the Yudari, because they are clearly not as fortunate as the humans here in the North.

The most touching moment for me was when Yui noticed that one of the servants was a Yudari girl. That was the moment where I was able to sympathize the most with the Yudari people and with Yui.

Also, the chapter did something that I really liked. It showed Crow telling Yui that he couldn't always tell the difference between Yui as his sister and Yui as the Yudari girl because the two sides of her are starting to blend together.

And this is funny because I also pointed this out initially, but it's good to see that Crow is actually pointing it out here himself. I liked that as well.

Also, the little teasing between Yui and Crow when she slightly nudged him with her elbow. That was funny. It was a good sibling-dynamic moment.

But anyway, this chapter was really good across the board.

Okay, I don't know why, but Yui taking off her shoes and kicking the other girl when nobody was looking made me burst out laughing. The narration just made her appear so funny in that moment.

But yeah, this chapter did a good job at showing the backstory between Prishu and Yui, how these two girls became very close friends, and it was sweet. Very sweet.

I like Prishu. You see that she formerly had all this tough exterior, while in the present, she just appears to be the most loyal and cheerful friend. It's very good.

I don't have much to say about this chapter other than the fact that Yui would have at least waved back to her friend, who was so excited to be there, lol.

But yeah, I get the sense that this is their dynamic, and it works. You're right, the further into the story I get, the fewer structural issues I have with it. Everything appears good so far.

So, what I'm noticing is that most of what I want to comment on, I've already talked about in previous chapters in more detail. For example, the different sides of Yui and her double life, both as a normal human girl and as a Yudari, are things I've already commented on in previous chapters. There are traces of those things here as well, but I won't bring them up again.

That's really what I wanted to draw attention to. Most of the new feedback I'm finding is based on things I've already talked about in previous chapters.

Other than that, the political stuff in this chapter was also good.

So Yui is basically being hidden from the King to protect her from something, but wait, actually, hold on. Why is Yui going on this trip again?

Is it because they're trying to protect her from enemies, or are they trying to protect her from the King, who is thinking about marrying her? I can't quite remember the reason why Yui is leaving home so early and going on this trip to the north.

Is she going there to perform her concerts? I reread the chapter just in case, but I can't really see a concrete reason for the trip unless I'm missing something.

So please let me know.

I think this chapter was done well. The subtle reminder of Yui's double life, especially when she wears the wig, the conversation with the Duke, him deciding to protect her by having her travel the city, and Yui's reaction to all of it were all good.

Yeah, like Mara pointed out, the Duke did give off some vibes that he might know her true identity as Lullaby. Because why give her the letter? Why does he think this human girl might have any connection to the Yudari vigilante?

So he might have some level of suspicion, or he might already know.

Anyway, I'm trying to learn to keep my comments not very long, haha.

I hope you now see from my perspective why I really wanted to keep that beach arc. Because without it, Maria's dialogue here wouldn't have carried much weight. We wouldn't have seen Mary spend any real time with her.

Minimo's magic would have also come out of nowhere. And the general bonding between all of the girls wouldn't have really felt complete if Mary hadn't spent time with at least a good chunk of them.

And yes, it was a little challenging, but I made sure to keep every single girl relevant to the climax because they all spent genuine bonding time with Mary.

This is why the beach arc is one of my favorite arcs, haha. Because it truly embodies the peaceful life Mary wants and has been fighting for.
