its a brutal chapter to read. but i think that makes it just that much more important! it really helps elisabeth sit down and think, bringing to light her past experiences and everything. im glad the realization came to the reader first, lol. shes not oblivious, though! just.... hasn't had the chance to think about herself in that way before, you know? like a lot of us, i think.
