your analysis is truly a joy to read every single time, to see you read into elisabeth so deeply and carefully is heartwarming. saying that she's multilayered is a compliment of the highest order, to me

i am also so glad that the complexity of the nature of elisabeth's feelings on sexuality, her kingdom's, diana's, and the empires all are mixing together to make for an engaging read!! for both elisabeth's character and the setting of the world, i felt it was important to have this kind of casual attitude towards it

i put these tiny details in, like marie getting excited about baking, to help flesh out the world and characters, and because they make me happy. nobody usually really notices or comments on them -- but you always do, and i just want to say it makes it all worth it!!

i love the way you phrase it, too: it's a lot less about her actually forgetting her previous life and a whole lot more about her....feeling more comfortable here.

the Andraste Empire, while supposedly intimidating, seems like actually a nice place

poor elisabeth, she's so confused. i almost felt bad making her this clueless LMAO but you've read into it so well!! it's exactly about that conflict between "being straight" and "being a woman"

Bridd Palace is another moment where i really wish i could have an artist draw it out for me, because even though i love describing stuff its such a specific image to me that i wish i could share it exactly as i see it. i tried, here, but im not sure if it came through.

i have two siblings myself in real life, so i felt pretty okay writing them being snarky to one another lol, it isn't always as rosy and silly as writing makes it seem, but i hope i communicated that there's conflict in sibling relationships plenty, as well
that bit about people not explaining things to elisabeth, im curious what you think as to the reasons for that might be
marie is very much a foil in many ways, but the two maids both do care about elisabeth's safety, at least :D
