this was the most important chapter to me in the entire story up to now, and i was genuinely worried it might hit a little TOO hard, or torpedo the tone of the story. worse still, what if it somehow is disqualifying in some capacity! but it was so crucial to me to have elisabeth have this flashback, and for it to force her into thinking about it all. i hope it wasnt too hard for you to read
