I really like the thing that can happen in real life where you might fight with someone, then something happens to put one or both of you in danger, and then when you reunite safely you're like "that argument was so stupid, I'm just so happy you're okay." I'm ecstatic that that came across in my writing, and moreso that you think the relationship between Elisabeth and Marie is well-written and an achievement for the novel!
Finley really is an insanely romantic guy, lol. I almost felt like what I had him say there was TOO cheesy, but I think it fits both his character and the scene really well. They deserved to make up!😭
As for the wink Diana gives, there is sort of a background dynamic happening between Marie and Diana that doesn't ever get shown explicitly, only hinted at. Kind of spoilers, I guess, but I'm referring to stuff that's happened between chapters 16 and 30 ish, nothing in the future. Between Diana and Marie, there's an unspoken 'thing' happening. First with their private combat training, then how casually Marie speaks to Diana, then how Diana shares her insecurities with Marie at that dinner, then with Diana literally breaking into a dungeon to save Marie, then with the two bursting in holding hands. It's ultimately interpretative, of course, but I can share my intent as to the meaning of all that later, if you'd like, lol
