Yeah, I agree. The intention was for it to come across as playful and comfortable instead of specifically ecchi. I still think it accomplishes what I intended but it also has the opposite effect of alienating some audience that might otherwise enjoy the story.
The last reason I might keep it is because I imagine more light fanservice would find its way into a sequel if I do one. Due to the structure of my novel, there's no good spot to put in a fanservice warning unless I want to break the flow of time and do a flashback in chapter 7~8 or at the beginning of the second novel.
I'd rather you see the fanservice in the prologue of the first novel so that you aren't surprised with a lot of (or at least more) fanservice in a second novel.
Thank you for the insight though!! This information is important to me because it allows me to make decisions like this (keeping it in this prologue or deciding to put it in the sequel's prologue). Ultimately, I haven't decided yet, and it may eventually change, especially if I get more amazing and high-quality feedback like yours! 😄
