I take my comment from the last chapter back. Emi is definitely not in the past đ This really feels like I'm just about at the point where something huge is happening soon. And still, somehow, we're only halfway through the story.
The title of the chapter is so good btw. I'm sure we've all had that one friendship in our lives we feel like could've been more. Or even should've been more if we had been braver, smarter, or acted just a little differently. This chapter made me think about my own life for a few minutes. I think that speaks volumes about how good you manage to put emotions into words. For a novel to resonate with the reader's feelings, it really needs to be well-written.
Even Yuta's monologue at the end was so raw, so filled with emotions coming straight from the heart. This was probably my favourite chapter so far.
