This one is probably my personal favourite chapter, so I'm very happy you enjoyed it as well. Ohh I didn't really think about Mahiru being "the firework lighting up Kousei's world" during the writing process, but now that you say it, it just fits so perfectly!

Thank you for pointing out the inner reflection about the fireworks! That part happened in a very spontaneous act of writing, but I thought it fitted quite nicely. Glad you think the same.

His thoughts and the things he says in this chapter are a mess, but I can fully understand where he’s coming from. To be honest, I would have liked to see him reciprocate Aiko’s feelings for maximum drama, but I think I can live with this outcome as well xD

Ahhhhhh can we please just go one chapter without drama?😭 “What was the difference between lying and hiding the truth” is such a powerful line that made me stop reading for a couple of seconds. I think Yuta should definitely tell Ray about it though. If I were told that the girl I like just rejected a handsome boy because “there’s someone else she likes” it would only make me feel more confident…right? Come on Yuta, please do the right thing

Letting the world end by choice of a goddess is definitely an interesting option. When thinking of the end of the world, I usually imagine some accident or inevitable disaster. I wouldn't have considered some sort of malicious goddess, so I'm excited to see where this goes.
I agree with some of the comments describing the prose as sober, but I think it works out well here given Henox's personality and lack of ambition.

Oh I totally get it, don’t get me wrong. I like using a first person narrator, but it always has the drawback that the reader can only feel what your protagonist/narrator feels. If your protagonist doesn’t think much of a person, chances are the readers will be indifferent to them as well.

Personally, this has always been my biggest challenge when using a first person narrator, so I’m excited to see how you’ll manage to avoid it in future chapters!

Let me just say that the analogy with the mask at the beginning was great, I thought it was really well-written. This is becoming very messy very fast, what is this at this point, a love hexagon? xD Personally, I would have preferred if some of the characters were introduced a bit earlier, in particular Aiko and Sayuri. It takes me quite a bit of time to get attached to characters, so the confessions could have hit me a lot harder if I had known more about them. Either way, I’m here for the drama, and I’m sure the big confessions are yet the come👀

Okay I did NOT see this coming. You managed to capture the emotions throughout the chapter very well. From Yuta’s loneliness during the performance to the sense of uneasiness when Aiko approached him, I could really see what he was feeling all the time. Can’t wait for the obligatory hot springs chapter xD
