I get what you mean. I tried to keep it simple, keeping the four aspects I was trying to explain in separate paragraphs, but the end result was still kinda hefty.
I was thinking it would be fine as this, for the most part, is a one-off long explanation I'd give early on, but now that I think about it, this being early on may scare off some readers.
I think I got some ideas on how to improve it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I've finally caught up lol. Now to share that feedback you asked for!
Overall, you're writing is very well done. It's very descriptive and engaging, and I'm really enjoying it!
The main thing I'd like to provide notice of is the pacing. In general, it's actually fine, and this may not be a problem, depending on what you have planned for the structure of your story.
Though for the contest, you already seem to be halfway to the maximum word count, yet I still get the vibes of the story being in its beginning parts. Just something to keep in mind!
Otherwise, keep up the great work!

Sora is really good at motivating people, whether he realizes it or not lol.
Also, for a quick sec, I thought maybe Sora actually was Zephyra's kid, but then I remembered his family lol.
It would still be a cool plot twist later on if you somehow managed to make good sense of it (don't force it if you don't want to).
