Haha, those thieves had no clue whom they were pilfering stuff from. All that practice is paying off, and the amulet is back in the game too. I knew it wasn't worthless at all!! It's probably more special than Pan could imagine...
Anyway, Pan vs Kitty Thieves Guild went great. Haku needn't have worried. I wonder if they'll become friends with the young pickpocket, Katz...

Chapter:26

So, Felix might now have a new blessing? Or perhaps rather a mutated one?? 👀
I have a feeling he might need one, no matter how carefully they planned their ambush. And, by changing the location, they've already changed the future Felix saw... but Crow definitely has some more aces up his sleeve as well.
I sense an epic battle incoming.

Poor Haku. No OP Swan Saint immune system, then...? At least her catching a cold got Pan and Elda to overcome their naked issues -- not that he had a problem with it. Bonding over food has really become their thing, and some chicken soup made with fine ingredients and a whole lot of love was the perfect thing for Haku.
I love these quiet, fluffy chapters so much. Just... she did just catch a cold, right? No poisons or curses involved, right?!!

Yes! It's about time they started comparing notes on what the spectres have told everyone. They really are so good at manipulation, basically playing 4D chess where anyone who can hear them is just another pawn.

Awwww, I also thought she had a cute little panda tail... And... AAAAHHHHHH, a spa day sounds lovely; they all need both the baths and the relaxation. Now let's just hope nothing dark lurks in this nice place....

You meanie you!!!
I was going 'lalala it's a nightmare' through most of it -- and I'm actually glad it wasn't just that. Great use of Prim's scrying blessing there. It went into overdrive there...
So, this means they still have two days to make their plans and have some useful info on Crow's abilities... It won't make the upcoming fight easy, but now they'll at least stand a chance.

Oh, yes! More Haku backstory. I'm so here for it. Was this her first reincarnation then? It seems she has some connection to this demon king... and she 'cursed' herself into fighting him forever/until he's gone for good?
And yes, Pan is definitely a very different kind of hero, and they're so adorable together. The (almost) ear-touching was just... nghhhh!! So fluffy!🥰

I'm happy the unease came through and didn't just make it feel slow. Hmmm, the dwarves turning into bug people...? 🤔That'd been one unexpected twist. (Darn it!) More on both will be revealed soon. Soon-ish...

So the council chose what they believed was the lesser evil: to sacrifice some for a better future for all. Also I suspect that their view on the impact they had on history 'saving' everybody- might not be entirely accurate. The winners write the history, after all.
I kinda like the idea of doing a formal challenge for the crystal... so I'm curious to see what they'll decide. And, if the harness really works as an anti-worm device or not... I'm still suspicious.

Healing magic. Now! Of course Crow would do a sneak attack, and he completely took them by surprise.
Nice cinematic jump through the window. But things aren't looking great, Felix has a lethally wounded Kite on his hands and no axe. Nyo~

Haha, I love the idea of cute and funny wizard worms. Unfortunately, that's not the kind our guys will encounter. 🥺

Yes, as if the 'small' bugs they're used to aren't bad enough... 🥺

To:Literate_Manul

Yeah... the bugs have been very busy buggers, and it's very possible that some of the things Elian was taught as a child aren't necessarily true... Can bugs really use magic? Is going into the mines a really bad idea??? 🪳

Chapter:16

Sep 06, 2026

Hmmm, did the harness really protect from the worms, or did the worms choose to remain silent, letting them believe this? Despite everything, I think sparing the Master was the right choice. He's not genuinely evil, and he does have knowledge they need.
And of course the worms show up at last, telling Silje to be wary of the council doing exactly the same thing they're doing... My guess is that neither should be trusted.
