Great first chapter your imagery is wonderful, and how you've related it to your own version of Japanese shintoism and mythology is great!
My big advice would be to narrow down how you use the word "Kami" as what western audiences call "gods" are not what Shintoism calls gods, they are known as Kami, meaning deity and yes, while it is often translated to English as "gods" in Japanese culture and Shintoism, they are closer to deities.
Deities or greater deities like Amaterasu-omikami, Tsukuyomi-no-mikoto, and Susanoo-no-mikoto are more commonly known as greater deities rather than your typical Western "god" who is omnipotent and all-powerful.
Other than the vast amount of information you gave us, your story was great!
