When I got the email on the competition, the hardest part was finding a name for the story and after walking for half a day, I came up with one, and it felt somewhat unique for isekai, doing soul summoning into the body of someone who had already lived and had a life of his own.
Before I started the writing process, I had already come up with the beginning and the end of the story. As I wrote, only extra details were add to my ending and it didn't really change.
Originally I didn't plan on writing what was happening to Kael and leaving him as he was, but I felt like I could do something with his side of the story which was a slice of life school for another worlder. Kael's story wasn't preplanned and I used it to put some future character details and Easter eggs for my favourite anime and manga.
But doing so left me in a hard place because of the word limit. Now I had to tell two stories with the word limit of one for the competition. I don't know if I made a mistake for writing and adding his story. Either way, I did my best for his side as well.
