I'm glad you think so! I really wanted to make boss battles that are cognitively challenging for the characters to figure out, especially Mivange, who's developing her leadership skills. I like to call Shien and Elysia's banter a "catfight"😂

Man, I love that Elias wasted no time having a face-to-face encounter with the Warden despite the dire time, and he had a flood of confusion, not knowing how to voice his questions or where to even start. But the Warden seemed to understand and not blame him, but alas, he knows he can answer him, but at a later time, after the conflict. I sense a pattern that Elias's desperate quest for answers and his flood of questions keep being delayed for reasons we cannot comprehend.

Man, mystery after mystery! It was cool to see the Warden in person, and he's powerful enough to summon armies. But even so, it's interesting to see how a vast imagination like that would drain people in this world. He seems aware of many things, especially that if Orrendale falls, all is lost, but he cannot explain everything to Red. Similar to how Bard cannot tell everything to Elias. I remembered the name Vorath mentioned before, and it looks like Red is needed to take down the First Shade. It's like there's a first demon who started it all and is plotting destruction. An interesting turn in missions for Red.

It was a cool concept that taxes are paid by draining imagination. That sounds a bit scary, actually, haha! It was an interesting interaction with the old lady who offered to heal Fawks for the right price, and Cecile is skeptical that the lady would cheat them, but Elias didn't care and was willing to go along with it for Fawks' sake.

Fenric waving goodbye to Elias' group as if he were waving to the last inn customer he waved farewell to was certainly heartwarming! Man, it's a selfless cause to be on the mission to bring people life from paleness, like how Jesus brings healing and light to the brokenhearted and hurting😊. I'm still watching Bard, tho! Cecile showing off her bargaining skills to Fawks was funny, sorta like a SpongeBob episode with Mr. Krabs, but it was cool to see that the Drael's value is dependent on color, kinda similar to how the eye colors function! C'mon, Fawks, surely, not all Drael could have the same value, aren't there pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters😂

No worries, man! Although I try to be quick to get to the point of stories and deliver honest, uplifting, yet critical commentary, there are always descriptions that inevitably slip by, believe it or not! I'm the type who likes to plow through one story at a time instead of reading/commenting on multiple simultaneously. I know friends who can read, comment, and keep up on multiple books without forgetting, but haha, I can't do that since I tend to easily forget which story was which or where I left off in whose story! 😂

It was a melancholic yet warm moment when Bard's song revived Fenric's life and eye color, and we hear Fenric's reminiscence of when his inn and the Common Ground were a peaceful place. Already, man, Dravenholt isn't doing so well! Welp, Gareth's death wasn't too surprising 😂

Man, it was an odd interaction with Fenric. He was pale, but for some odd reason, it was like he was trying to live in peace alone, especially since he didn't do any harm to Fawks. Fenric and Bard interjecting about the truth of why everyone spread about the Outskirts because of roaming Shades was interesting, as if Bard felt Elias was not supposed to know certain truths yet. Gosh, it was annoying that Gareth was underestimating the threat of the Shade army and dismissing it like it's no big deal.

Gee, trying to stir up Elias' doubt is a bit of a dirty move from Bard. I'm still keeping an eye on him! Something happened to Fawks. "The silence that followed was worse than the scream." Okay, that description was unsettling😆

Ah, snap, the Shade army's already closing in on Red! I loved the conflict Elias felt when doubting whether the Warden could answer his questions. It actually made me worry if he was turning pale! I looked back at the chapter you explained eye colors because I remembered the colors went by order, and chartreuse is like the staple before more advanced green, blue, and so on. Elias' eyes turned yellow, which is shortly after pale and below chartreuse! Man, I'm getting concerned for him! Don't let the doubt take you, Elias!

It's smart that Red is trying to prepare Dravenholt for a potential attack and seek an armed escort to go with after seeing the unusually calculated and organized siege Tarlmere suffered from. I liked how Elias is asked what he would seek when he sees the Warden, and he is missing home, which we knew he always wished to be with his family instead of his monotonous job. I did feel bittersweet when Bard wishes Elias well and reminds him that he also has company in the Common Ground. Interesting that Bard felt a bit conflicted when he said that, because I keep feeling a sense from Bard that he's hiding something, and odd that he can act very nice or sharply cutthroat at times. Dunno why, but I'm sorta keepin an eye on him, haha 😆

I'm sure playing one of those athletic/sky-level themes from a Mario game would be fitting for this chapter. Elias' group got off a bit easy with no flying koopas or rotating blocks to worry about! I always dreaded those levels 😂
