It did in the end, though, unfortunately, I had to draw from some friend's IRL experiences with coming out in this chapter. They too had to deal with some really awful things being said to them, many I never wish to repeat, but they were, thankfully, in the minority.

The man who abandoned her? The man who betrayed her trust, started spreading rumours about his wife, and that then left her whilst she was pregnant? An act which would (inadvertently) cause her to lose her baby? And then he never saw or spoke to her again? All of this causing her to go into a deep, dark spiral that would eventually make her want to commit suicide again?
He did quite a bit more than just have an inferiority complex
