Yeah, the type of story definitely plays an important role! ๐
My projects usually have a complexity that makes planning sensible. But with the things you mentioned to have used across your more extensive projects, you're even beyond what I used for planning! ๐
Nonetheless, the approach you described sounds much similar to mine! I also am more of an intuitive writer. A lot of the planning stuff I create is actually never used in the end. It's just a way to explore the area I'm trying to build my adventure ride on before laying the first stone. Once discovered, I usually don't need those planning parts as much anymore. With this project I do have stricter appointment plan, but the whole construct is still very dynamic: Fail early, Fail often, then you'll fail less later! ๐
And thanks for the praise, I really appreciate that! It's great to hear you liked my style of writing and that the complexities of the characters so far! I'm really enjoying your novel as well so far! (In case you couldn't tell ๐
๐) As I already wrote much earlier: I really like how real the characters behave (if we leave the comic relief moments aside, but I easily really forgive you that for the hilarious jokes ๐). They have a strong value and belief system and in the end do what is right! I enjoy this kind of meaningful wholesome much more than any wish fulfillment fantasy! ๐
Only point of critique I currently have is that the overall presentation currently feels generally a little rough around some edges, but that is nothing another rework iteration couldn't fix!
If you ask me - provided I did only read a fraction of all the committed novels and don't know the exact instructions the Jury receives -, you're definitely one of the top contenders for the shortlist. I think the overwhelming feedback to your novel is just a testament to that!
And don't think I haven't managed to write myself into some corners as well. Only way to prevent that is to finish the novel entirely and only upload afterwards ๐ You have to deal with the mistakes your past self made ... even if they were made in the planning phase ๐
