Yeah, I also gave that a few thoughts. At the beginning it was even planned out that Isato entering the school would be like a few chapters and the rest was the first club activities from them taking place. But somehow it felt better to first wove the big mystery around the school and show how and why it is so special. This whole novel developed into like a „prologue“ of how he got to the school and (hopefully) the White Hoods.
I still don’t know how long this series will be, since there are still a lot of areas of IT and Cyber Security + espionage to touch upon, but the upcoming volumes will probably also feature a few of the things you mentioned, like the daily school life with character development. By now that is mainly focused on Kayami and her desertion with the conflict between the three factions. This will take a more general place in the future but still peak through occasionally (at least the way I envision it right now 😅). I’m glad you liked it, though! 😊
And why he didn’t recognize her is not THAT well addressed after the next chapter, but it’s the same reason why nobody recognizes Superman in Clark Kent even though he literally just wears goggles: Isato did not expect it at all. He was searching for a girl with shoulder long, black hair and not for one with long, blonde hair. Her general appearance was so far off, that he didn’t even consider her. And once you see it you ask yourself how blind and stupid you must have been 😂
But to be fair here: After interacting with her so thoroughly, he probably should have recognized her voice or the shape of her face. But that would’ve spoiled it too early 😜😂
