K'yaaa thanks for insightful comment, Walker!😀 I tried channeling a lot of my favorite romcom anime into this story, mixed with some inklings of preferences for more mature stories. Not sure how I'm going to do in the contest, but I did my best. Wishing you luck as well with RBC and Aoba :) !

Yeah, that's sort of what makes Asagiri an outlier in that cult. She still believes in a lot of their tenants, but she formed her own interpretations of them which gave her free range to live how she wants, and to live in general. Unfortunately, not all the DeLightful members are capable enough to think critically for themselves, but it's mostly because they're victims of their own circumstances.
I mean it's also called the Dead Man's Switch for the whole reason to thwart assassination attempts lol. Dead man's switch is a real world term too. And girls don't need government-issued boyfriends, it's not hard for them to dominate in say, dating apps 😅 and get actual boyfriends It's mostly the claustrophobic loneliness anyway that gives rise to DeLightful ideals
