Eloquently said! Yeah this whole novel is basically that old idiom of "Don't judge a book by its cover". So naturally the same concept extends to the characters xD
Yeah, Asagiri is a meme lord but also a sweetheart at heart. She's been through a lot but I'd hope she's improved herself since back then.

Oh yay, was worried what some people might think of Asagiri after this chapter 😅 She had a troubled past but she's slowly getting better and becoming the little gremlin we know and love

Poor Mai can't have any peace with Noriko around 😅 But yeah, you're on the right track for Noriko's thought process. It's a bit more complicated though, but hopefully I can explain things well enough in a future volume. Next few chapters will mostly focus on Asagiri and her friends until the finale

Oh wow, you read fast 😆 Yeah Mai isn't exactly in her right mind right now, so she doesn't have much ground to accuse Noriko of the same. But I love how you compared and contrasted each girl's mental states, since the chapter's point was sort of for people to decide who they'd rather trust: Noriko or Mai. Clearly both girls have questionable ideologies as well, so it remains to be seen how that will serve them in the future.
