Lmao, Ryder was still alive, almost forgot about him.
Funnier thing though, the first thing he noticed about Ori was her eyes and not the muzzle on her mouth
In fact it seems that entire romantic segment at the end occurred while Ori was still wearing her muzzle xD Would have been funny to see them try to kiss and realize it was still on her face.
But yeah, seems like I made it to the end. Quite the ride to say the least.
Loved all the anime-esque humor sprinkled throughout and Ori always acting like a bonafide tsundere. The little twists and turns always kept everything engaging, and not shying away from darker aspects of humanity was a plus too.
Great way to conclude the story as well, as it can work as a standalone or something with series potential. A zombie story with a zombie main character would be interesting to read about; also room to expand since there was zero explanations for how the zombie virus came to be in the first place.
Only real critique I could give are that the shifts between past and present tense were sometimes pretty awkward, but it's something even I struggle with so no biggie. I believe I only spotted like four grammar errors throughout as well so good job on that front.
We're competing in the romcom category but I hope we both do awesome :) And there's always future contests as well if you're interested.
