Thanks for reading! Sorry for asking, but why do you think the shadows are from Stay? Or that they are the ones who built the mechas?? I didn't mean to. In fact, I've used several factors and comments that I've been building up during the novel. In chapter 22, I mention the shadows to be a hidden neo human organization; the shadows themselves say they want to annihilate the Stay and how they were manipulating Yu Asu; the use of the cyber-deep is supposed to be exclusive to the Neo Humans; they recovered an unknown body a few days ago in the heart of a Neo Human metropolis... Said in the prologue that the Stay abhors body modifications. It doesn't make sense that someone from the Stay faction would use body technology. Even one of the shadows says that he needs to warn Mai Asu about their orgs plans. Perhaps I was mistaken in not stating explicitly that they are Neo Humans. I don't like to be so clear. That's why I like to use subtle elements for the reader to realize. Although I find it strange that you think they are not Neo Humans. Could you tell me where I've gone wrong?? I need to correct my mistake!!! I'll re-read and try to make it clear that they are not connected with the Stay. I wanted to make the shadows the counterpart of the Stay faction that is preparing to invade Neo Human territory acording to Yu. As stated at the beginning of the chapter, the Neo Human government appears to be uninterested in global dominance... apparently.
Maybe it's just that you're theorizing about it hahahaha.
