Take your time, friend. Reading at your pace is always better than rushing just to fulfill some vague agreement.
But I can see your point about the sequels and about that, I would say that it can work well enough. Basttias would be easy could even do something with Soffy and that other robot that I sadly forgot the name with how well-established they are, it's just Dr. Shreburn that seemed to be lacking a little.
