So I had a festival arc planned for a while, but I veered off with the timing of it. You'll see a couple of the past "friends" show up eventually but what you pointed out about side characters not playing a role stuck with me. In the end I want this story to be funny despite the drama and not the other way around. So Shirai had to make her comeback haha. I think the whole club together makes for a good time so the next arc having all of them included will be fun.
As for which character I relate to the most, believe it or not it is Anita. Even though she hasn't had much of a back story and her motivations aren't clear so far, that'll change starting next chapter. I hope to do her character some justice going forward!
