I can't believe you caught up!! Thank you so much for reading. I'm not particularly fast at writing, what with life getting in the way and my laziness and all that jazz, but knowing there's a person interested and willing to see what comes next serves as incredible motivation. I'm about done with the next chapter, as soon as I have time I'll get it done.
I'm glad you liked this Ume date arc, I was hoping to bring out how close the two are despite spending so much time apart. Tani acts a little different around Ume than everyone else. I was also trying to recreate a very specific walk I did in Tokyo a couple years ago from that Sumo hall, to the pizza place, the garden, and through the park to riding on the slide, and to the top of the Skytree through their eyes instead of mine. It was one of my favorite days in my life even though I spent it alone haha.
I really really like Ume, and a lot of the story going forward will revolve around what she was up to the last few years, and what she's going to do going forward. Unfortunately yes, that means there is the classic anime trope where two very 'best' girls inadvertently yank at our MC's newly budding human heart...
We'll see how that turns out!
