The characters in Urugano will rarely pull their punches, especially as time goes on.

But any case - I can't take full credit for the communist magic since the idea of it was heavily inspired by the Soviet magic girls in Meipouchou (seriously they're such a fascinating concept to me). I haven't seen the Le Chevalier D'Eon anime (yet another thing on the list), the inspiration came from your normal magic spellbook + the Maoist little red book

The kaiserboo clues were dropped in chapter 2 and 4. As for the concept itself - the idea of a lonely girl finding comfort in masculine militarism is a huge contradiction that's been kicking around in my head for a while. Of course, finding solace like that isn't exactly ideal.

And that's far from insulting, I'll freely admit the scene here was 100% inspired by Bebop. A good chunk of my writing is me reading/watching/listening to some piece of media and thinking "how can I corporate that a story?"
