I think that’s a rather fair assessment, and also a good observation that the scene was intended to introduce a different side to Charles as well as highlighting some of Sakuta’s deeper insecurities. I can see how it would come across as a little hamfisted, or unearned in this case. It’s one of the unfixed elements from 2023 contest pacing.

On the point about “Highness” vs. “Majesty”, I will say that this isn’t *recently* re-written. I did some minor updates and shape-ups to prepare for JNC, but I can definitely go back and make those changes for the sake of correctness later when time allows. Though, it probably continues throughout the volume, just so you know.
