Fantasia is NOT ugly! 😄
I think that statement is a very powerful one, and not only the perfect cap off to the story, but also a great title for it too!
I really enjoyed the journey of Ravel and Fantasia as they discovered their love, and used that love to show what inner beauty really is.
As for the characters: over all, I thought the characters in the story were very realistic in a way, (minus the intense bullying) almost like they were based off real people. Some of them would say things I'd expect guys or girls in the locker room would say to eachother.
Ravel was a fun lead, persistent in his struggle to prove that outer beauty doesn't matter. He changed quite a bit through different parts of the story, not the least of which how he slowly fell for Fantasia.
Fantasia was a character I felt stayed relatively the same for the whole story. I think that she only really became more expressive as she and Ravel dated, coming off of her timid shyness. Her personality always seemed very free spirited, encouraging and straightforward. I think that plays to her strengths, since she really always had the best qualities of any of the characters through the story. No reason for her to make major changes when she was already good at her core.
As for the setting: A lot of the places they visited were described pretty well, enough that I could picture them in my head. My favourite location would probably have to be where the beauty contest took place and the poets house.
As for the story: I think the story definitely had a good conclusion with the world seeing the inner happiness of Fantasia. I personally consider the climax of the story to be the beauty contest.
Speaking of which, that was definitely my favourite part. I really enjoyed reading and seeing the shenanigans of the contest. Plenty of suspense and fun times.
Over all, a fun read, and it has a good lesson behind it too! Very good work! 👍
