I love the idea of the drunkenness being more of a choice (and requiring knowing what it's like, otherwise like you said with Layn, he might just mimick the behaviors he saw in others since he was never drunk in his first life.) Layn might even drink alcohol without knowing it was alcohol (if no one told him it was beer for example) and think it tasted like soda or something based off his guesses from the bubbliness and color, and he would have zero drunk impact.
The conservation of mass is always the one thing that gets confusing here 😆 like you said, maybe a suspension of disbelief moment. Because if they can eat/drink and absorb it...but nothing comes out, then technically mass has been lost from the world 🤣 over time, Chains would literally reduce the molecular viability of their world if summoned on a grand scale! But, the easiest solution for this is to have them basically be like an oven: they use the food energy, then burn any excess into waste heat, and probably vaporize the mass and emit it out as some kind of ash/smoke over time. 😂 Which would probably make them smell weird, and have a little smoke trail. Hmmm. Okay yeah 🤣 better to not answer that one.
And glad you're enjoying my story! :D it makes me so thrilled!! Jun is a very silly main character (okay, dense and ultra-baka might be better terms) but I'm glad he has really shaped up to become a likable MC!
