And now, this arc is complete. As mentioned in the comment on the previous chapter, getting this game just right was a real pain. This was probably my least favorite game to have to create due to all the hard work it took to get it to the scenario where Utami's on the verge of being promoted. The good news is the next arc contains a match I had lots of fun writing so look forward to it.

Oh boy. Here's some behind the scenes context for this chapter. Getting the game to the point where it was when the chapter ended was a nightmare. I actually had to go through three different games, the first was good until I realized Utami's pawn had been captured early so that game had to go. The second game... was just bad. I basically had the characters intentionally making bad moves in order to set up the scenario where Utami's pawn made it to the 2nd rank. Then there was this one... It was the best, so I went with it.
