I love how this reads as a oneshot to a shounen anime or manga.

I like the nuance to this story where someone commits suicide not because they hate other people, but because they prefer embracing death.

I like how the two characters are nameless, makes you focus more on their feelings than their identities.

I love the structure, where we get to see a man's life through reunions that take place once a year.

Hi Anime07,

The structure of the story is that the main character, Rina, is imagining herself as present in the suicide of Kisaragi as a kind of supernatural being, when in reality she wasn't there at all.

She's using this delusion to help come to terms with his death. By "I don't know if he saw any angels back then," she's alluding to how it's all in her mind. In reality, Kisaragi jumped off a building all alone.

The narrator then decides to join him and 'kill herself' by either mourning him and dying a natural death, or waiting for her full lifespan before killing herself to join him. A reason she thinks herself as more Cupid than Reaper because she decides he felt her love rather than hate.

I can see how the tensing might be confusing! I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Self isolation in pursuit of arts can be horrible. Thank you for writing about that topic.
