So my initial point is in respect to his assessment, not the textbook view of abuse, which you only bring up specifically in the 2nd comment.

As a normal person of society would think, that is correct (and textbook, as you just said). But for someone that knows of nothing else, how can he determine that? Like a child raised in isolation during covid (but in this case, the world accepts that as a reason), how can he tell that it is abuse?
