I feel like something is missing in the novel, but I can't quite figure out what it is. It wasn’t supposed to turn out this way. The beginning, middle, and end are already clear, and the story has immense potential. Yet, because I can’t write it well enough (due to a lack of skill), it ends up feeling dull. It’s as if a story that anyone even slightly interested in psychology would love, is being wasted in my hands.
As a writer, I currently see myself at the same level as someone who would describe an emerald as "just a rock, like any other on the street," when it comes to their knowledge of gemstones. But I’ve decided to fight harder for this story. Even if I rewrite a chapter over and over again, in the end, I’ll create something remarkable. If necessary, I’ll dedicate weeks to it and do nothing else. If I write the novel that satisfies me but doesn't adhere to the word limit, I will withdraw from the contest.
If you’re a reader, believe me, it will be worth the wait.
