Let me just say that the analogy with the mask at the beginning was great, I thought it was really well-written. This is becoming very messy very fast, what is this at this point, a love hexagon? xD Personally, I would have preferred if some of the characters were introduced a bit earlier, in particular Aiko and Sayuri. It takes me quite a bit of time to get attached to characters, so the confessions could have hit me a lot harder if I had known more about them. Either way, I’m here for the drama, and I’m sure the big confessions are yet the come👀
Okay I did NOT see this coming. You managed to capture the emotions throughout the chapter very well. From Yuta’s loneliness during the performance to the sense of uneasiness when Aiko approached him, I could really see what he was feeling all the time. Can’t wait for the obligatory hot springs chapter xD
This chapter feels so calm for the most part, with a hint of loneliness seeping through between the lines. I felt so bad for Yuta when he mentioned he was no longer needed and moved to the audience. And as for the last sentence… I could almost hear his heart break when he read Lyra’s message :(
Ahhhhh Yuta is SO in love, it’s kind of adorable. I don’t know much about music unfortunately, but the descriptions in this chapter were very understandable even for someone like me. Also, I don’t know why, but I love the sentence “the wind gently played with her hair” towards the end. It’s really subtle, but it makes it sound like Lyra’s hair is some sort of instrument, and I think that’s beautiful xD

It definitely depends on the kind of relationship Kousei has with his parents. And, of course, on the type of relationship he pretends to have with Mahiru. I believe many parents wouldn’t oppose helping their son’s girlfriend by housing her for a while🤔 Thank you for your comment!

Isn’t it amazing how fast cultures change once you cross a border? But sometimes, it can also be a little scary, especially if you feel lost in your new surroundings. Mahiru’s probably very happy to have such an understanding person like Kousei by her side who can slowly explain to her how people in the West live their lives haha.

Interestingly enough, Bride Schools really were a big part of the culture in Germany in the past. It’s kind of crazy to see how much society has evolved over the past 60 years or so.
Thank you so so much for the kind words! Well, the truth is still not fully out haha. Nobody except for Kousei really knows where Mahiru actually comes from, and it seems like she and Kousei will have to try their hardest to keep her identity a secret🤔
I tried to depict their relationship as shy and innocent as possible, especially since Mahiru has little experience with other people her age. I would hate to be in Kousei’s shoes… Either he goes along with the risky plan or he’ll likely never see Mahiru again, even though he seems to get along well with her. I’m glad his hesitation is clearly visible, I don’t think anyone could just go along with the plan without a second thought.
Thank you once again! It’s very nice to hear their conversations feel natural, especially considering they’ve known each other for…half a day? Mahiru is really strong, but she’s probably incredibly relieved she can be a little more vulnerable in front of Kousei.
Mamoru is such an important person in Mahiru’s life given how he’s been the only one to protect her most of her life, so I’m glad you like their interactions! Yeah, Kousei can be a little dense and lost sometimes (really reminds me of Yuta xD), but he was such a fun character to create. Thank you for your comment!
It makes me so happy to see you return to the story! Mahiru was a tricky character to write as she avoids showing her vulnerable side most of the time, but every once in a while, her facade breaks down. Marrying someone you just met is kind of crazy, but I think it shows how desperate Mahiru is haha
