Interesting start, I like how you instantly create tension and make us root for one side. I did not see the end of the chapter coming, I wonder what kind of person fell into her backyard 👀
If I could give one piece of advice, I sometimes found it a bit hard to figure out who was speaking on my first read, so I had to go through a couple of passages multiple times.
