*Bananas*, you say? This is certainly a fantasy world, then! Because normally you can only grow apples if you get a hard freeze over winter but you *can't* grow bananas if it *ever* gets below 40°F 😀

Might I suggest a minor edit? Replace bananas with loquats. They're delicious and can grow in hot/humid *and* cold environments (and high altitudes). They'd be the *perfect* fruit/tree for a fantasy world like this. I used to have a whole bunch of loquat trees that I grew myself from seed at my previous house and we ate them off the tree whenever there was fruit (so good; super sweet!) 👍

Why don't we see loquats in supermarkets? *They don't keep* after they're picked. You have to eat them right away or turn them into jam (or otherwise cook them into something).

Other options: Plums, pluots, lychee, and pomegranate.

Warm environments: Banana, carambola (star fruit), and if you *really* want to make things interesting: *horned melon*. The vines would be terrifying to a fairy—able to shred wings!

I've grown horned melon and let me tell you: Never again! LOL!

Ya know, I actually haven't decided that yet! I was thinking about giving her the climate control tail (which would let her freeze/burn anything around her) but I was also thinking about maybe giving her something special like a spell tail that lets her draw magic symbols in the air or something like that.

If I gave her a spell tail, something Maizy discovers later in the book would make Grandma *vastly* more powerful 🤔

Though, if I write more books I kinda wanted to reserve the "able to write magic symbols in the air" as something that *any* kad could learn how to do once they work out how to make staves/wands 🤔
