Oh ho ho. It seems Haku has a powerful admirer... and a certain panda-someone is jealous... I believe things will get... interesting in more ways than one, once they reach Aenzia... 😼

But if someone of Dariuwos' caliber is worried about whatever is going on there... they might be facing something worse than the Erlking - forcing Haku to choose, for real this time...

Yes, finding an unexpected tribe-mate, who can help with some of the practical things was a great relief, because they don't really know what they're doing.

While civilization definitely has some perks and comforts he's enjoying, it's clear where his heart is... and as far as I know, all is well back in the Autum-camp. 🥰

'The eagles are coming!!' For a moment there, I thought the monster was back, but it seems the beacon worked and some heroes/adventurers came to the rescue. They're all so badly wounded. 🥺

And as if her physical wounds weren't enough, poor Pan also realized that Haku might not have changed as much as she thinks/hopes. Their vision of 'being together until the end' means very different things for them... with only one of them thinking about sitting on a front porch somewhere, knitting (LoL), stuffing themselves with good food and music...

Wow, that was some great background on Haku and her cycle of reincarnations. I suspect the part about her sacrificing herself to slay the demon lord perhaps wasn't the only way out, as she believes, but rather the choice she keeps making. And the nightmare shows that at least part of her is aware and wants to stay alive and actually live with a loved one.

Still, I can't help but wonder... if she thought the Erlking was the 'final boss' in this world, and Pan wouldn't need her to fight again -- would she have chosen differently and left this time too?

I think that was a pretty good trade. The flow-phones will be very useful, especially if they can make more of them, and I believe the council will make good use of the rifles. (I assume they, too, know how to duplicate them.)

I'm curious to see what Luna will think of their plan to make her a Guardian... It's a big responsibility after all.

Phew, that was some nightmare! Poor Pan, but it was so cool that she could use her power to break free. Both she and Elda put up such a good fight, but they're definitely outmatched here. They really need Haku to wake up from whatever nightmare she's living.
Also, I love your take on the evil fairy king; he's really creepy, in a very cool way. 🖤

I was SO tempted to put in a proper snuggly spooning scene there - for warmth only, naturally... But then it turned into back-to-back, with Kaia not sharing her tail...

Leaving those poor victims was so hard, especially since he's still carrying the guilt from six years ago. But, logically, it was the right decision.

Nope. Definitely not easy money. But their reasoning was sound. All that money would solve most of their travel expenses - and if nobody took the quest, who knows what horrors could descend on the people...
I really enjoyed the creepiness when they investigated the convent, finding all the dead bodies and the mystery about who'd lit the beacon. Solid RPG vibes there.
And then that creature?! Definitely boss-level, and Haku was the fall to go down. I'm really curious to find out more about it, and how Elda's condition makes him immune. And I love the irony of the order potentially being saved by a (half) undead...

I really hope they'll find many well-paying jobs in Rubia, cause letting Pan loose in that food market will make their coin purses lighter, very fast. It sounds like a wonderful place, though. The sunset over the lake was stunning. As were the scarf scenes. 🥰

Haku does seem to have changed at least a little during their travels... but probably not as much as Pan hopes. And while I trust in whatever powers are handling Haku's reincarnations, and that there is a growing threat needing to be dealt with -- finding out that Pan lied to her is going to hurt her a lot.

On a totally different note: Of course, the main reason for curing Elda's condition would be so he can taste food properly again.
