Yeah, I think that's romantic because there is no way someone calls another dumb and the other isn't angry unless they are close.

They probably could only shed tears for books. They also probably didn't care that much because someone was always sacrificed for them, but they were still happy regardless because they didn't have to worry anymore about the minotaur (or the noise that disturbed their reading).
