Big agree with Terry's previous comment. Just a little bit of indication, like
"dialogue here", I said.
That goes a long way directing the reader on the character's vocal tones and impressions.
You've got some really solid lines, I like the characters and their implied relationship.
Keep it up!

I had to come back in the middle of reading chapter 2. This first chapter here is insanely good. Your writing is truly beautiful, Pruf.
So good, in fact, that I went on to chapter 2 without even realizing chapter 1 had come to a close.
Your words are mature, and exquisite. Your narration is easy to follow, and your main character is wonderfully relatable, despite me not being anywhere near an Idol lol
Thank you for sharing this story with the world. It's already wonderful, and I've barely even scraped the surface.
