i’m glad you took the time to read and dissect - and yes, i do hate unnecessary descriptions when i can get a point across in simpler words, haha, so i’m glad you like that, too.
as for dinah/allen… well, dinah is based on alice’s cat in alice in wonderland, whom alice loves. she’s constantly in her thoughts; in fact, dinah is the sole reason alice wants to come back home - more than seeing her family or her sister (older sister in the novel), so in that sense, dinah is the entire reason alice in wonderland happens in the first place, and that’s why i made him the most important person for allen. whether it’s romantic love or not, however, i don’t think even allen knows because he hasn’t thought about it. though i can tell you that, after the crime he committed, he has no motivation to come back home……. except to see dinah again.
