That's actually a good point, I could've ended it with happiness to sort of give the readers a red herring chapter lmao! Ending everything with a shock will gradually fade out effect wise and I have done this so much I can see how it became overused and abrupt.

I had to add that scene regardless since the next few chapters are pretty much the climatic ones. I am also excited to hear yr thoughts/reactions on the flashback ones, and whether you theorized anything from there x) There's probably a reason too why asides from burnout, I ~un~intentionally wanted readers to *not* feel too attached to any bonds haha~

Yeah this chapter was a mistake LMAO

JKJK, I will say the continuation was rather surprising. Tbh I lowkey would’ve kept it as it is, seeing that I envisioned the mom to be completely ruthless and the implication that she’s actually crying over seeing her son is rather… unexpected almost? She even disclosed earlier that she doesn’t really feel or regret anything she did. Either way, I’m curious as to how you’re approaching this story and it’s future chapters, maybe that’s an incoming plot you’re brewing that would twist my brain cells even harder x)
