To address your comments in order:
I keep my chapters short to make sure I can keep my writing concise. I don’t want to bore readers with long strings of description, and my previous work had a lot of problems with it, so perhaps I overcorrected.
The confusion with how they evaded the bullets is covered in the story— more than likely it was just a matter of weird word choice. Shiera and Kori pulled a concrete slab from the ruins and dragged it across the battlefield in front of them.
The slang is how people actually talk where I live— I’ve based it off personal experience. It sounds corny, but it’s true.
The bit about the fanart— I don’t have any fanart, aside from one or two references based on my own drawings. I do all of my own art. I’ve never really bothered to describe faces, since I imagine them in my mind anyway, but I think your comment has brought to light this issue.
I hope I tie everything up too. :)
