While reading this, I tried to put myself in the place of the character. How would I react to receiving what is basically a suicide note? How should I react? Honestly, the way you've put it on paper doesn't seem too far off from what most people would do (stand there confused then later try to reach out).
While it's interesting, the flow of the writing seems to stutter. The point gets there in the end, but getting there proves to be somewhat difficult. Hopefully, this is no more than an artifact of it being the prologue and clears up as I read further.
Overall I enjoyed the start, it's got the charm of mystery that wants you to know what will happen next and the details aren't overly descriptive as to burdening the story by taking away from the actions that they're meant to describe.
