My theory of Handwriting-> Gob open door:
The thing abt Gob's handwriting was that it was predominantly right hand with strokes flicking towards the right more often than the left. His dominant arm would be important later.
As a lord OF PUSH-UP HOLDS, he would choose to remain in that position underneath the office desk even before Eugene had reach the place. The purpose of the low-reaching door knob was also so that Gob could reach the door knob while in PUSH-UP HOLD.
You ask how he move while in PUSH-UP HOLD? Easy, he would fully extand his fingers and toes and move his whole body along with the desk on top of him using only fingers and toes without adjusting his body.
Suppose the door is also an office door, it would likely swing inwards in the perspective of Eugene. As such, for Gob to open the door, he would have to use his dominant right arm to grab on to the door knob and slowly swing the door towards him. Since he needs to remain in his PUSH-UP HOLD position, his right arm would have a very limited angle of movement. As such, in order to open the door ajar even a slightly, he had to reposition himself (via fingers and toes) several times and subsequently resulting in the jerks between door swings.
