No need to convince parents, if they are already convinced 😁
And you're not just imagining things there. "The Magic beneath us" is in fact an analogy for creativity, art and seeing a uniquely different side of the world. I think that every artist, no matter which medium is to some degree guilty of seeing the world a little different than other humans.
Painters might see the colors and how they play together with lightness and darkness. Animators see the movements of different creatures and all the aspects that influence them. And writers see how people interact with each other, how they talk and what constitutes their personality.
It's a curious view on reality and other artworks that is a blessing and a curse at the same time. While it helps you filtering a special part of reality into a unique and new work, it's also something that is hard to turn off.
That's why Akimi struggled so much: She wanted to take over her parents' company, but her creativity still came through and made it hard for her to pursue this goal without sacrificing her hobby. And we as hobbyist authors indeed are pretty much similar to this ... having to balance our bread job with whatever art keeps pouring out of us 😉
And this here was not necessarily meant to be a Romantic Comedy. I did feature some comedic elements to loosen the Slice of Life up a little, but after all, it was meant to be a more character-centered drama. But I admit, that the more wholesome Slice of Life also took a quite big part of the stage 😅
And thanks for the recommendation. I had Golden Time on my list for a while now. Guess, it'll move up in my priority order then 😁
I'm really glad, you liked this book and read all the way to the end! Your feedback and the critical sights on the chapters really helped me a lot to spot some of the weak points! So I'm very grateful for this! Thank you very much for reading! 😊❤️
(I'll be waiting for you to continue your story 😉)
