Love me some of that trope where two characters were having a perfectly normal conversation when in reality both were freaking out in their head :)
This reads a lot cooler than what it’s supposed to be, so good work :)
Don’t worry Makoto, sometimes it takes a real man to become best girl
Came for the memes, stayed for the lore. The plot thickens and I'm all on board

A pretty nice setup of the academy and characters' background, and a good cliffhanger to end the chapter. I wanna say bad job for the cliffhanger, but it still did its job so I can't be too mad about it :)
I feel rather conflicted (in a good way) about Kiro’s “research”. On one hand it shows his optimism in a situation he’s unfamiliar with, but on the other hand he’a almost objectifying the other non-humans, disregarding their sapience since they’re “not real”. A disturbing thought that really grabs the readers and doesn’t let go.

I really dig the fantasy vibe this brings, and the great prose really accentuate everything. Excited to see where it goes :)

I did not mean for the name to be edgy, but you know what I’ll take it 😆

I can’t really put in into words about the first two chapters - nothing is inherently wrong, but there’s just something about them that didn’t grip me as hard. Sorry if I can’t be of help
While the first two chapters might be a bit off to me, this one really nails the eerie and mysterious vibe - after the first part, even such mundane activities like a loving father taking his son to the doctor feel sickening to think of. It really begs the question - how much is it real?
Great work.
